Correspondence, 1930-1987.

Correspondence spans the period from Carr's graduate student years until shortly before his death and represents many phases of activity, including reptile taxonomy, Florida natural history, sea turtle research and conservation throughout the world, but especially at Tortuguero, Costa Rica, chairmanship of the IUCN Marine Turtle Specialist Group, technical director of the Caribbean Conservation Corps, scholar, and university professor. Among the hundreds of correspondents, principals include Thomas L. Barbour, Charles M. Bogert, James A. Oliver, David Ehrenfeld, Wayne King, Larry Ogren, Peter Pritchard, Richard Fitter, Peter Scott, Joshua Powers, Colin and John H. Phipps, Billy Cruz, Anthony Mence, H. Ross Witham, Carl L.
